Korea On Fleek 2023 - Seoul Wednesday

we all grabbed kimbap rolls from the convenience store and I at least was embarrassed eating it on the airport train to the city.

After arriving at Incheon you immediately realize you're not in Japan anymore as the first stage immigration people were very Korean and short. They were saying you have to write your name in english on your entry card and tons of Chinese people didn't know how to do that causing a jam. Here's an example of Korea using illustration all over the place.

We made it to our airbnb in Yeonnamdong which is next to hongdae but is the quieter more civilized neighborhood with cute bars and cafes EVERYWHERE. It's kind of like the equivalent of nakazakicho. All the bartenders have tattoos and look like hipsters. We saw this cafe called On Fleek which was 2017 or so slang for excellent or on point. No one uses this slang anymore so we found it funny that this cafe's name is so out of style now. And so we named all our shared photo libraries with some form of On Fleek.
Grabbed a few beers from the convenience store, unpacked, went for dinner at Don Jose around the corner for samgyupsal grilled pork belly and the smallest serving of naengmyeon i've ever seen

photo doesnt really do justice as to how big this instant ramen bowl is

Jen and bob went home Steven and I went to Dirty Pink which had no one inside and then to this place and got modum jeon assorted pancakes which ended up being huge (but delicious) and so much food after we were already stuffed. This would be the ongoing theme in korea going forward is that we were always stuffed.

saw this guy lounging late night with his shaved Tibetian Mastiff. Said here take this raw meat to give him so he doesnt bite you. Very reassuring

ankles swollen up from idk, salt?
