| the coolest beach on Oahu in my opinion, Makapu'u. It's also got crazy waves and not great for swimming usually but good for boogie boarders and body surfers |

| Naupaka flower, legend says that the Hawaiian princess Naupaka fell in love with a commoner and it wasn't sanctioned so she gave half of the flower in her hair to him and they had to live by the sea and in the mountains separately and half the flower grows in the mountains and by the ocean and its true they do grow in the mountains and on the beach and look like half flowers |

| we had no car for a lot of the trip, due to the pandemic it was hard to get a car and or very expensive. Finally we had to do it or else we were stuck doing whatever the rest of the family wanted to do, which i'm sure jen was fine with but i wanted to explore. I took Zachary with me to pick up the car and when they made their upsale pitch to a mustang convertible he was like YEA GET IT so i did thinking this will be fun they'll like that he's stoked but when i pulled up they were like what are you doing dude that is the quintissential tourist douche car. |

| So one bad thing about Hawaii is that stuff closes early and after walking to several bar on our list they were all closed or closing so we just went home. This is probably conducive to living a healthier lifestyle though. |
