Pandemic Island - Part 4

the coolest beach on Oahu in my opinion, Makapu'u. It's also got crazy waves and not great for swimming usually but good for boogie boarders and body surfers

shreddin' the gnar

Rabbit island

they say that no local drives a mustang convertible, here's an example of how many you see around town, and these just happen to be the same color (might be douchy but it's a nice car and feels solid and quality to drive)

5 min drive to Sandy beach means sunset beers whilst watching peeps shred the last gnar they can

another run, and of course there are HILLS

ran up this hill, i think i was investigating the trail head of the Kamilo Iki trail hike. That's Koko head again there

A Waikiki day, say what you will and its full of tourists but for good reason, the water is great, small waves, easy access to food and drink and lots to look at. That said after a while i was itching to go to this vintage aloha shirt store...
a 20 min walk in the hot sun to get to Bailey's Antique aloha shirts

Its where Nicolas Cage, Anthony Bourdain (RIP), Jimmy Buffet and others get their shirts

I left with 3 shirts, a Reyn Spooner from a few yrs ago, one from the 2000s, and one from the 60s which is big so i need to still get it altered a lil. And all at great prices

Kaka'ako area is now an art and street art enclave

Nick Kuchar has carved out a big space for himself as an illustrator in Hawaii

the mustang shines this logo on the ground, which is not in the best taste in my opinion

So one bad thing about Hawaii is that stuff closes early and after walking to several bar on our list they were all closed or closing so we just went home. This is probably conducive to living a healthier lifestyle though.
