Another Summer in Paris - Part 1

Another summer in Paris.  I'm here for 2 months, July and August.  I'm house and dog sitting for my aunt and uncle that I lived with before.  I also need to pick up a bunch of my belongings from their house that I wasn't able to ship over to new york.  So with the fam gone for the summer it's just me and the dog all summer again.

my favorite thing in France a hot baguette just out of the oven.  So hot it hurts to rip into it.   And above that are the "Tradition" baguettes.  I like the new Tradi bags they're using at our corner boulangerie.

Cous Cous at Chez Mamane on Rue des cinq diamants in Butte aux Cailles.  This is definitely not for 1 person it was huge.  The olives on the table aren't served there.  Since I was by myself I had to sit across from this middle aged woman who was just drinking and she offered me olives and the price I had to pay was to talk to this Butte Aux Cailles weirdo for my whole dinner.

went down one level to the party we were supposed to be at.  A baller apartment.  There were 3 grills and a smoker.  The place was big, the bathroom huge.  Claw foot tub.

view from the back of our Carroll Gardens apt.  Its such a shame that the land lady downstairs is very old and wheelchair bound and can't do anything with this plot of land in the back and we can't either because it's only accessible through her apartment.  This was totally overgrown with weeds until a few days ago when workers came and did this to it.  maybe something will happen with it?

so that's it for me and New York for 2 month.  I'll be in paris til the end of august.  Up next, Paris posts!!!!  à bientot!

Hawaiian Outrigger FestivalYoon

Yoon came to NY for this Hawaiian outrigger festival and competition with his rowing team from DC

so this zoom is even better than your human eyes could see of the rowing going on so basically no one saw anything and just hung around in the hot sun with a few food trucks (all non hawaiian food, literally there were british pies, pizza, chinese food, etc...)  They did a very poor job on this festival.  Very poor

the Kona brewery beer garden was the best part about the whole thing, workable I guess

they had Tahitian dancers which apparently is awesome and sexy and Hawaiian dance is not so much.  Isn't it messed up to have the Tahitians taking over this Hawaiian festival?  Jen who is from Hawaii said that it's normal, I feel cheated though

I stole this rosemary plant from the wedding reception, which was not very badass because they just had a surplus of plants sitting on a table that no one probably wanted to deal with

Choom tal I got in Korea

Everyday around 1:30pm you can hear a van come and go down the street in front of our apartment packed to the max with barking dogs. It's insane and now there is proof!  check out the video
