Sportsball Summer

53 years since the New York Knicks won the title and on this day they are 1 win away from clinching the title in 5 games. 

Knicks win! a huge number of new yorkers that don't even care about basketball came together for a few weeks of comradery and good vibes and good times 

back on the roof after seeing the mayhem in the street, to watch nyc themed music videos, there's a sleepy eric as usual.

Now its world cup fever. co hosted in USA, mexico and canada. We went to the society of illustrators 125th anniversary opening then to korea town to try and watch the korea vs mexico game but we couldn't get in anywhere so we had to cab it down to the east village to an irish pub then at halftime we ran over to Fat Buddah which is korean and now called Hidden Tiger. Korea lost. Korea played all its games in guadalajara mexico and on social media it was a big thing with all the mexico and korea fans mixing together and it being a giant cultural love fest. I've heard this is happening all over, small cities hosting teams' base camps and the world discovering america isn't bad and the people are friendly and supportive and everyone having fun, like Lawrence Kansas hosting the Algerian team basecamp and everyone loving it. Lots of social media and news clips of people around the world in america for the first time discovering it. Gives you hope. Sure after the world cup we'll descend back into the hyper divided politics and culture wars that we do but for now its nice to see the world's people (not the govts) get along

gas station next to ryan's studio got deluxified and makes mexican food in there. Why can't all gas stations be like this?

we were gonna throw this bag of spend soil out, but life fins a way. it's gaennip and 20 leaves of it are like $5 at the korean market.

we finally did it, a season of fortnite where we made it to the final level in Ranked Reload No Build. Its the level of players where you WILL get shot out of the air if you parachute, get head shotted if you stick your head around a corner, people will land on you out of nowhere from the sky. Its scary. I feel like the sweet spot of fun vs not too easy is the Champion level

Diego is actually from Colombia and said we gotta go to Astoria to El Basurero to watch the game. Many other diaspora Colombians i know said this is the spot. We had to wait in line for like 30 minutes but were able to secure 2 tables

it was a draw which was fine cuz it meant Colombia still won their group over Portugal.

Korea got eliminated in the first round the and govt is investigating the coach and the whole program i guess for corruption and probably just cuz they mad, Japan crushed it and made it to the knockout round but lost so they're out, Germany out. A lot of americans have world cup fever for the first time. Its a fun summer of all the diasporas showin' out
