the first FIT illustration senior party at society of illutrators or anywhere in 18 years. I was the guest speaker at the one 18 yrs ago and it felt special and i was like why didn't we have this and why don't these students have it now. Steven Tabbut really got it moving and dept coordinator Hadija found $2k and we made it happen and i think everyone had a blast, parents that came were impressed and a lot of the faculty came too. I hope we keep it going every year.

Also the 125th anniversary show was up with all the greats from 125 yrs on the wall including this Seymour Chwast. I have a piece in the show, probably cuz they have to include some contemporary people too.

our elevator was breaking all the time recently and i've heard its from the heat and the solution so far as been having this fan running all the time with the door propped open in the elevator room on the roof. WTF. Also our elevator is frequently breaking regardless of heat. Idk if this fan is the reason why it been working all the time now or what but that's crazy if thats it.

Mercario. The original Lonches Bañados, a Guadalajara tradition since 1953. This is by design an extremely messy sandwich, you can't tell but the entire thing is smothered with a tomato based sauce and they say you WILL get messy. It's delicious but idk why you would want a sandwich that is covered in sauce and you have to just straight up grab a sauce covered sandwich it makes no sense. Like a chicago italian beef is very messy but its clear liquid. If you are a person that's not freaked out by grabbing a completely sauce covered sandwich with your hands then this is delicious. They make one with no sauce on the outside but prob not as good.
