Gay Paree 2024 day 5

day 5 bobby stayed home to recover for a while and we went to meet ryan's french illustrator friend Antoine Maillard that he knew in Oakland but now works and lives in Toulouse

had a great croque madame at La Fronde which had amazing prices for 2024. Jen's plat du jour was the bavette steak plate and it was only 12 euros which is crazy for 2024

when we were approaching the lunch spot was saw this guy and were pointing and laughing like omg there's French ryan sitting right there, and then it turned out that was ryan's friend Antoine that we were meeting. But to be fair to me come on, look at them.

the pompidou with its turned inside out concept with the pipes on the outside. We were going to see this huge french comics exhibition that ended up being so huge that you wished there was a halfway point with a cafe so you can take a break. There were lots of american and japanese and foreign comics represented in there as well we could have stayed well beyond the 3 hrs we were in there.

afterwards we went back to Place Dauphine for more petanque and although antoine hadn't played for many years he was just naturally french and good at it. This photographer Letizia Le Fur approached me and asked to take photos of us for an exhibition in the eiffel tower in december so i said sure.

spotted a duck (in germany) or a tortise (in britain) the Citroën 2CV

we hoofed it to the Montmartre area for dinner at Janine

This was some kind of digestif i think. We saw this huge bottle and had to ask about it. This was technically the 2nd best food we had and we had a really nice time at this place.

we walked to Sacre Coeur and past Le Moulin Rouge

street beers as we ascended the many cool stairs down many side streets

we called it a night
