The Pandemic Will Be Over By Xmas They Said

saw the same color as Dubu but Dubu is hotter
Sh!t is getting real now that several vaccines have been approved and are rolling out now. first it was available only to seniors then later on lower in age and so on. It was also available to the immuno compromised or even people with asthema and the death tolls was going up and up and it seemed like a race to get vaccinated before you got COVID. People where doing mental and moral gymnastics to justify getting vaccinated because the supply of vaccines was limited. It was incredibly stressful that when you tried to make an appointment there would be a timer counting down and you had to complete your appointment by then. On top of that appointments would dissapear by the time you finished or there'd be a website error and many other errors it was crazy and I was racing to find a way to get us vaccinated. 2 things led to me driving 4 times in 2 months to Corning near my parents house. Bob's car died while he was driving on the highway so we finally decided to buy a new car and my parents found a great deal by them, and there were a TON of appointments in Corning and none in NYC. Because of work for some reason Jen couldn't go when me bob and steven went which would have made it so I only had to go twice for the 2 vaccine shots but there were tons of appointment and I told jen you have to get vaccinated the next week (cuz putting it off for even one more week, that could be the week you get covid and die).

we did it, we all got appointments, the national guard ran the whole process at Corning Community College and it was very efficient and relieving. At this time you got however much immunity after shot #1 and then however much more after shot #2 and the news and everyghing you hear about was about efficacy and risk and how bad were the side effects. And stewing during all of this was insanity, vaccine deniers, vaccine hesitancy, and the politicization of vaccines and science itself. Now in 2022 it is clearly a thing and divides our country and infects many people's minds. Family members, friends, you name it. Everyone knows someone who, thanks to social media and the media believe one side or the other, believe in science or conspiracy theories. Its all been politicized and used to divide us. in March 2021 the world was hopeful, and they said the pandemic would be over by xmas. They didn't predict that the US and the world would never get to vaccination rate that would wipe the virus out. That Anti-vaxxer would become a thing and a way of life even and a political stance in america and other countries. Misinformation runs amok. Soon there will be protest and rallies and claims of liberties and freedoms being trampled on for having mask mandates and vaccine mandates and private companies or businesses requiring proof of vaccination. The short lived optimism we felt in our hearts would soon end. It's July 2022 and COVID will be with us forever now.
used 2018 Subaru Forester, with no extra features, but at a great price and less than 30,000 miles on it. Thanks to my parents for test driving it and picking it up for us. Oh and riding the train all the way to JFK to rent a car to get to Canisteo was stressful too cuz it's the height of the pandemic and you're in a metal box with people for an hour

Dad rented a cherry picker to put up screening to block out the birds from getting in the barn and poo'in on everything. Spoiler alert the find a way in still in 2022
