Oh Hey It's a Canisteo Christmas - Part 3

What a dog!  What a Jen

It's go time.  It's time to attempt something that wasn't even attempted in our childhood's, the whole d@!mn hill.  To be fair to us as kids we didn't have a dad that was willing to drive us up the hill in an all terrain vehicle multiple times which he was more than happy to this time.  I think I did about 4 runs this day, finally completing the whole hill on my final triumphant run.
said 4x4 vehicle, the parents new one
my dad and jen were following behind in the 4x4 and on one of the runs he said the speedometer got up to 25mph and I was pulling away so he estimates I got up to 35mph especially at the 90% point of the hill where it slopes down more.  The sled run of my life!  I hit a rock on one of the runs and it made a hole in the bottom of the sled and bruised my buttock very badly.  What a time to be alive.  I am 36 years old.

christmas presents from the parents, a brew journal and a bunch of ingredients including experimental hops.
Sinatra doll from Aunt Julie, GoPro Hero 5 from Bob which came in handy, Dremel and Instant Pot (pressure cooker, crock pot slow cooker, rice cooker, yogurt maker, all in one) from parents.  Bob got a pasta maker so he made parpadelle and I made braised pork shoulder ragu in the instant pot.  My part was super easy, his part was super hard.
as you can see from the previous day's gopro footage it was ultra shaky because it was mounted to a headlamp and not a dedicated gopro headstrap so I tried mounting it this way but it was still bad and the voice activated command f'd me over so I need to learn how to use it better.  It missed my even longer run going all the way from the top to the road.

mom agreed to sled down.  After seeing the possibilities these new sleds revealed we went to the very highest part of the 4th field which extended my run to about 1 minute and 10 seconds of straight up sledding!  I literally had to stop myself or else I would have gone into the road that cars drive on.
but mom wiped out very soon and then the sled just went all the way down the hill without her.  Old people and their trying to control the sled with the rope like its an 1800s wooden metal rail runners sled, humph.

I've got the wooooooorld on a string, sittin' on a rainbow.

Harper hates these snow shoes but its funny watching her high step around in them.
