Hello Park Slope

Hello Park Slope!  We finally moved in.  Technically our side of 15th street is still Park Slope, the other side of the street is South Brooklyn.

watching Office Space at Brooklyn Bridge Park.

in the end there's only one way.

found this guy on the bed and hoped it wasn't a tick.  It's not it's a spider beetle.

the butter crunch lettuce was producing enough to eat everyday  (eventually it crapped out)

a harvest of buttercruch, mizuna and young shiso and gaennip leaves cuz we needed them despite getting to their full size.

Jen made some bulgogi and we combined it all to make ssam bap

climbing has gotten popular, stevers and bartlett go to brooklyn boulders regularly, and they're even having them at street fairs like this one on 5th ave BK.

Sweet Crude at the Bric celebrate brooklyn live concert series in Prospect Park.

I discovered Ben L'Oncle Soul in Paris and was amazed he was headlining a night at the park.  I was then disappointed to find he sang only once in French the whole night and the entire time was reworkings of Sinatra, and a lot of B level Sinatra at that.

back in Carroll Gardens I finally saw Dennet Place, a little street with even tinier hobbit doors on every building.

Ellen was here and she got really hot

in the Pokemon Go world the Raid functionality was finally released and its forced nerds to gather and team up to achieve stuff.  Sometimes there are even normal looking people.  Then they released the Legendary birds and you absolutely have to team up with people and even talk to strangers on the street to coordinate.  The very first day, a sunday, that the Legendary birds were available Bob and I set out in my hood with the expectation of not having enough people (12) randomly around to help in the capture of a legendary bird.  We made our way to the front of a church and saw a small group of people waiting around.  We joined them and had to talk to them and we didnt have enough people.  We all waited a few more minutes and more people crossed the street to join us.  We fought and lost 2 time and we all knew we needed one more person.  We see a kid with ADD run over and he was all over the place and we finally got him to do what we needed him to do and we all won.  Everyone was so happy and high fiving and one lady was like I might cry.  It was like the sizzle trailer for the game.  We had a diverse crowd of many races, ages, and walks of life.  It was amazing and a truly magical experience all brought about by a dumb app on our phones.  Keep in mind we are a group of 12 people on the sidewalk and it's embarrassing (at least for me and bob) because we are standing around on the side walk for pokemon go.  I walked dumbfounded and amazed and conflicted by having a bunch of 1s and 0s bring about emotions in me.  Since then the raids have become less magical as peeps no the deal/are getting fatigued.

the indoor Shiso and Gaenip is doing well also.

America's Birthday 2017 - Part 3

after a huge breakfast at country kitchen we scooped up mom and went to Keuka Lake Vineyards and Dr. Frank's.

my dad got these low velocity explosive targets and we shot them with a 22

VDK hit the big bag of explosives and it shook the earth and echoed throughout the valley.  Peak America achieved

There were a lot of heated cornhole games as the championship games were played.  Also the annual Raish brothers vs. Raish brothers horseshoe game was once again won by the older Raish brothers.
3 Athletes take a much needed break whilst awaiting the points results of the tournament.

and after a grueling 3 days of blood sweat and tears from all the athletes the International Alternative Sports Tournament of Champions 2017 LLC Working Title comes to and end with much fan fare at the closing ceremonies.  The Golden Ax ® (sponsored by Amazon.com) is awarded to the athlete who has shown the most heart, with this year's recipient being Jeanne Raish (USA).  Katie Ly (USA) received the MVP medal largely for her prowess in the corn hole competition bringing victory to several floating team matchups.  Floaters do not receive points if their adoptive team wins, which makes a floater's victory all that more courageous and honorable.

and here we have the winner's podium.  This year saw Sebastiaan Van Der Kock (Belgium) mount a crushing gold medal win after a rough day 1 start.  In the IASTC the current points leader wears the coon skin cap (sponsored by Amazon.com) during the competition and the eventual points leader and gold medalist are awarded the cap during the closing ceremonies.  The Silver medal was awarded to Jason Raish (USA) who's victories in the horseshoes and corn hole championships brought him a healthy number of points.  The Bronze medal was won by Steven Hedley (UK) after pulling out an 11th hour archery victory, edging out 5 others who were tied for 3rd.  He held the arrow of fate in his hand as the sun dissipated into the atmosphere in the final hour of the tournament, and he fired it straight into a Bronze medal win.

I present to you the International Alternative Sports Tournament of Champions 2017 LLC Working Title athletes.  Give them a hand everybody.

special thanks to Robert Raish for doing the thankless job of spreadsheeting and score keeping and keeping the tournament matchups coming.

back at IASTC village the celebration commences and as with the Olympics everyone banged everyone and everyone swapped STDs.

a Kock and his ballz

how's it feel to be on the receiving end of the Dutch Finger?

on the previous morning Sebastiaan Van Der Kock awoke as a mere man, but on this day he awoke a champion.   This ladies and gentlemen is the face of champion.

The whiffle ball game was arguably the most fun event of the entire International Alternative Sports Tournament of Champions 2017 LLC Working Title.

collision at first base.  stevers went all in.  The funniest part is that he doesn't know the rules of baseball so there were a lot of hilarious moments.

how fun does this look?!!

pinch hitter dad bunted on bases loaded so I was out at home.

the fate of the championship rested in a pop fly headed for first base.  A nervous Steven Hedley (UK) stood shaking beneath it.  When he opened his eyes he found a whiffle ball in his outstretched fingertips and had he one more microsecond he would have begun weeping but his teammates Jason Raish (USA) and Sebastiaan Van Der Kock (Belgium) enveloped him in a joyous embrace before the tears of joy could be released.  The team with 2 non americans won the championship.  Well done chaps
