America's Birthday 2017 - Part 3

after a huge breakfast at country kitchen we scooped up mom and went to Keuka Lake Vineyards and Dr. Frank's.

my dad got these low velocity explosive targets and we shot them with a 22

VDK hit the big bag of explosives and it shook the earth and echoed throughout the valley.  Peak America achieved

There were a lot of heated cornhole games as the championship games were played.  Also the annual Raish brothers vs. Raish brothers horseshoe game was once again won by the older Raish brothers.

and after a grueling 3 days of blood sweat and tears from all the athletes the International Alternative Sports Tournament of Champions 2017 LLC Working Title comes to and end with much fan fare at the closing ceremonies.  The Golden Ax ® (sponsored by is awarded to the athlete who has shown the most heart, with this year's recipient being Jeanne Raish (USA).  Katie Ly (USA) received the MVP medal largely for her prowess in the corn hole competition bringing victory to several floating team matchups.  Floaters do not receive points if their adoptive team wins, which makes a floater's victory all that more courageous and honorable.

and here we have the winner's podium.  This year saw Sebastiaan Van Der Kock (Belgium) mount a crushing gold medal win after a rough day 1 start.  In the IASTC the current points leader wears the coon skin cap (sponsored by during the competition and the eventual points leader and gold medalist are awarded the cap during the closing ceremonies.  The Silver medal was awarded to Jason Raish (USA) who's victories in the horseshoes and corn hole championships brought him a healthy number of points.  The Bronze medal was won by Steven Hedley (UK) after pulling out an 11th hour archery victory, edging out 5 others who were tied for 3rd.  He held the arrow of fate in his hand as the sun dissipated into the atmosphere in the final hour of the tournament, and he fired it straight into a Bronze medal win.

I present to you the International Alternative Sports Tournament of Champions 2017 LLC Working Title athletes.  Give them a hand everybody.

special thanks to Robert Raish for doing the thankless job of spreadsheeting and score keeping and keeping the tournament matchups coming.

back at IASTC village the celebration commences and as with the Olympics everyone banged everyone and everyone swapped STDs.

a Kock and his ballz

how's it feel to be on the receiving end of the Dutch Finger?

on the previous morning Sebastiaan Van Der Kock awoke as a mere man, but on this day he awoke a champion.   This ladies and gentlemen is the face of champion.

Party day

Larry Lawrence brought bubba cola.

I would like to think Elena (the only child) was very disappointed when the Piñata broke open and out poured a bunch of slim jims.

one of at least 3 water balloons I took to the crotch.

VDK has the camera, he was running from a little girl

The whiffle ball game was arguably the most fun event of the entire International Alternative Sports Tournament of Champions 2017 LLC Working Title.

collision at first base.  stevers went all in.  The funniest part is that he doesn't know the rules of baseball so there were a lot of hilarious moments.

how fun does this look?!!

pinch hitter dad bunted on bases loaded so I was out at home.

the fate of the championship rested in a pop fly headed for first base.  A nervous Steven Hedley (UK) stood shaking beneath it.  When he opened his eyes he found a whiffle ball in his outstretched fingertips and had he one more microsecond he would have begun weeping but his teammates Jason Raish (USA) and Sebastiaan Van Der Kock (Belgium) enveloped him in a joyous embrace before the tears of joy could be released.  The team with 2 non americans won the championship.  Well done chaps

America's Birthday 2017 - Part 1

For this year's 4th of July party weekend we rented a party van and had quite the crew of misfits upstate at my parents house.
the trip began friday morning at 6:30am because I had to go to Laguardia airport to pick up the party van because it was $500 more anywhere else.
after loading the van up pretty full of misfits and cargo we made our way to Ihop because someone requested it.  You're looking at a 1700 calorie country fried steak breakfast that I ate all of and no one could our would call me a pansy for the rest of the weekend.  This would not be the only CFS that i'd eat that weekend either.

Do not step to the Dutch Fingaz Cru or their Dodge Grand Caravan or else you will be dealt with in an appropriate fashion.  Steven also pointed out that there is the arse of another DGC visible through the doors of our DGC making this photo even more hardcore.

stevers bought a hungarian bow and its hard to use

stevers gets to drive
and chop down trees with the ax he bought and strip the bark off with a survival knife he bought so his dreams came true.
a great sunset, BBQ dinner, beer, friends, going to sleep in tents, and then jostled awake at 3:30am by Bob saying the lighting is getting close and we should get outta there.  No one wanted to go and everyone hated bob.  It was pouring down rain and cold and we drove down the hill in a thunder storm and it was horrible but also Steven and Kimie's most memorable moment of the trip.

We told ya'll not to step to the Dutch Fingaz Cru and now there are two DGC's to deal out two black eyes for you.

5 legs total.

The International Alternative Sports Tournament of Champions 2017 LLC Working Title (IASTC), now in it's second year, has added the alternative sport of archery to its list which also includes, cornhole, horse shoes, and whiffle ball

We awoke after night 2
