come on now lil' guy, give us a smile

some year of the rooster stuff I received in the mail from friends in Japan.

ate at La Vara, a michelin starred restaurant in our hood for my birthday, be both agreed that it was....ok.  Dessert was good though
spreadable chorizo, honey foam i think

we finally got a couch some months ago after 2 yrs of a crappy ikea couch bed futon thing.  Thanks parents for this wedding present from JoyBird, makers of mid century modern furniture, I can vouch for them (my parents and joybird).  Jen's not too happy with the 2 huge pokemon halloween costumes, croquet set, petanque balls, kite, and sled under that couch.  Does she live with a 36 yr old child?

birthday presents from the parents.

beer brewing day, this time 5 gallons.  I bought a 5 gallon carboy down the street from the antique shop and we got the rest of the gear from Bitter & Esthers in crown heights in steven's hood.  We are in the hole about $200 at this point.

Steven playing with Bob's sack again, basically a typical Saturday afternoon.

Three Testicles Brewing Co.  aka 3 dumb@$$es wasting their money and time.

puttin' the Sous Vide machine that bob got me for xmas to good use, it was actually sweet not having to monitor and adjust the temp of the water that was making our mash.  You can just set this thing to the temp and it does it for you

adding malt

sanitizing the carboy

we got a hydrometer this time so we can get a baseline reading and then get an alcohol content reading when its all done.  The only thing was we had to find a vessel deep enough to let it float and we finally had to use a vase and we also messed up the reading because it says our beer is 10 percent alcohol and it was only supposed to be 4.5% and theres no way its 10 because it would taste like crap instead of yellow water.  We started at like 3 or 4 in the afternoon and finally ended at 11pm at night.  Sure there was lots of drinking and merry making as it was also combined as my bday party but still we are dumb@$$es and it shouldn't take that long.  We seriously underestimated how long it takes 5 gallons of water to boil.
